"Walk Amongst the Himalayan Giants"

Our trek to Everest Base Camp is strenuous but does not require that you have any previous trekking or mountaineering experience. The trek will be rigorous, but it will be at a moderate pace to allow for proper acclimatization and time to take in the breathtaking, unforgettable views of the spectacular Himalayas while enjoying the Nepalese culture. You must be able to hike for 5-7 hours over hilly mountainous terrain with a light day pack. Experienced Sherpa guides will be assisting you. You will be following the classic route to the Everest base camp where you will follow in the footsteps of Sir Edmond Hillary and the famous: Tenzing Norgay Sherpa. The trek passes through some of the most spectacular and incredible mountain scenery on earth and through interesting and friendly Sherpa villages. After a slow and careful walk up to high altitude, with plenty of time for rest and acclimatization, the team will stop at the tiny hamlet beneath Everest: "Gorak Shep". Using Gorak Shep as your base camp (it was also Sir Hillary's) you have an entire day for trekking up to the modern-day Everest base camp, where all of the famous Everest Expeditions now go. The following day we will walk up to the ridge top known as "Kala Patar" for fantastic and breathtaking views of Legendary Mount Everest.

"Sherpa villages, the world's highest Buddhist monasteries and the highest peaks on earth" You will experience it all and more.

Equipment to bring:

You should be bringing rucksacks or 'marine' bags. No hard covered suitcase for your luggage will be carried on the back of the sherpas. These bags should only carry what’s necessary for your hike (13Kgs MAXIMUM). You can leave your city clothes in a bag at the hotel in Kathmandu.

Bring the small rucksack for the trek, your passport and other important papers, cameras, water bottles, sun cream, etc.

- Leave your plane ticket at the agency so we can confirm your return flight and to avoid any loss.

- Sleeping bag (for temperatures up to -15 °C. (We can arrange for the rent of this in Nepal).

- Hiking shoes and a pair of comfortable sneakers, warm socks.

- If you bring new shoes be sure to break them in before you arrive. You don’t want blisters.

- Fleece jacket, Gore-Tex jacket, shirts, tee-shirts, gloves, sweat-shirts, two long pants, tights.

- Anything necessary for your wash and a pharmacy with your personal medicines.

- Pocket torch, batteries, toilet paper, pocket knife, sun glasses, hat, woollen scarf, etc.

- Hiking sticks could be of great use when walking down hill and could even prevent foot injuries such as ankle sprains. However they cannot be taken as hand luggage so make sure you put them in your baggage hold with something to cover the pointy bits. A gamo bag, is included in the tour price in case of altitude sickness.

Do not forget anything. Do and redo your bag. When hiking, it must NOT weigh over 13Kgs. HAVE COMPASSION FOR THE PORTERS!

During the trek we provide a marine bag for each person to protect your bag from dust, moisture, etc.
